Vladivostok: value interaction 1 with ManSur

We witnessed a couple of values when we made our first encounters in Vladivostok. WEARTH met with ManSur, a native Feng-Shui artist, who creates labyrinths and other sculptures of great power. Check out his webpage at http://www.man-sur.ru . ManSur instantly got the idea of WEARTH and wanted to participate in it. So we went to the places, where his powerful land-art labyrinths were, at least the ones on Russian Island, situated just before Vladivostok.

When we went there, rain was pouring heavily, connecting the sky with earth and us amongst it. We followed certain circular movements as well as assuming other specific body positions, before and after placing the WEARTH bar.

This island has a military maze under its soil; the huge Russian base from the beginning of last century that allowed to control the bay. ManSur told us that below these old military tunnels there is an even deeper and older tunnel system from the indigenous people stemming from about 12000 years. The labyrinthic stone formation we placed this WEARTH wax bar in connected these ancient tunnels, the center of the Earth and particular stars or galaxies of the same shape high above in the sky.

We respected the wish of ManSur to not be portrayed.

After connecting our stone within this pattern, ManSur said there isn’t any obstacle for the project anymore. We hope he’s right.

WEARTH – we are creating the first global sculpture

Why we are doing this

dollar wearth bar

Beside our values, convictions, beliefs, we all share one thing:

We live on this Earth.

What is our relationship to it and which values prevail or are there values that should persist over our being together?

What we are doing

150708_DE_Wearth-placement18With WEARTH, we create the first global sculpture, i.e. we intend to enable a better communication about complex values.  E.g., WEARTH helps us getting the sensation of space with the precision of all your physical capacities of interaction, of the sound each different body is capable of evoking, and among other things, to show us all the millions of color shades that we can perceive. Listening to and writing down the stories of each single co-creator, by portraying them and their placements in image, and witnessing to their (inter-) actions with the means of the motion picture will bring us a collection of different perspectives, options on and about the sculpture we inhabit and that is the base of our existence: Earth.

How we are doing it

IMG_6313A brick: a universal tool for constructing, it has been used in each culture at any given time. It isn’t charged with particular religious or philosophical attachments or meanings. Plain and simple a great means for constructing or a symbol for a constructive mood. Our bricks have a non-par format and are made out of wax / paraffin. Through their individual enclosures each of the single stones becomes unique.
Since it is on the whole globe, the sculpture WEARTH doesn’t know notions of above and below. Each 48 km such a wax bar is placed in nature, as a land-art statement in space. These placements are done with people living there and with our team. Simultaneously, the people are asked about their values, the values they like to attach to their lives or to communicate with the rest of us. They are portrayed visually, and their stories are written down by authors in their local language. The placements as well are photographed, and the whole dynamic interaction will be put into a road-movie documentary for each part of WEARTH. The first part of WEARTH starts in world’s largest country on the Pacific coast near Vladivostok, and finds its last placement having crossed the whole of Eurasia, at the Atlantic coast near Lisbon.

Co-Creation is key

Strokes_Stones_A_08Not only the artists, the management team or the scientists alone are creating this sculpture. WEARTH is and should be created mainly by as many of us as possible.
The process of making such an encaustic bar is highly artistic and simple enough at the same time. Everyone guided by our team, should be able to make them, thus being enabled to make both a unique experience and to express parts of their belief system by e.g. enclosing objects, choosing different shades of color, transparency, and texture.
